on set photography

This page will be devoted to the on set photography of Keith Hamshere. Keith was the official stills photographer attached to the camera and electrical department on Saturn 3. His stills were used to help promote the movie prior to and during its release. There were literally hundreds (if not thousands) of pictures taken during production and I will endeavor to post as many as can be found. All photos courtesy Keith Hamshere.

The first selection of shots were taken during the filming of the scene were Kirk and Farrah share a Blue Dreamer in their living quarters.

The following shots were taken during the scene where Farrah collects Sally the dog (who has been shut in the lab). Notice the hand of an unidentified crew member surreptitiously making sure her appearance is just right.

  1. Awesome! Keith Hamshere’s on the set photography is very beautiful. They certainly capture some interesting moments in the production of the ITC Entertainment Group film.

  3. My parents recorded Saturn 3 for some reason on an VHS Tape. They were not into Sci Fi at all & they probably auto recorded it without ever watching it themselves.
    I on the other hand, watched it countless times at the age of an elemantary school child.
    It traumatized me on many levels but I greatly appreciate it today.
    The version we had on VHS had the kinky costume scene with Farrah but was (luckily!) missing the airvent death scene.
    That would have troubled my young self too much…

      • Thanks for providing this website.
        I don’t recall the exact year but that version we recorded aired in the 90s.
        Important to mention is that it aired on the German TV program since I am located in Germany.

      • Ahhh – yes. I was wondering if you were in Germany – as it’s one of the few places in the world which had that scene included upon its original theatrical release. You probably know this already – but the German steelbook blu-ray release has that scene re-incorporated back into the main body of the film. Thanks for commenting Waldemar. 🙂
